I keep observing this as a pattern in parents for years. Somehow, I wish they could change it.
Here are some examples.
You start showing some of the most beautiful pics of your kid and you hear, “bhai, ye chhodo. hamaare bachche ke photos dikhaao”.
Another incident. You observe a development in your kid which maybe every parent observes in their parenthood journey. Remember, those happy moments?
As you share them with someone, you get that immediate reaction, “Oh, my child did the same even better!”
You feel that someone crushed your feelings with a bulldozer.
Why to compare at all? Why can’t we hear and be part of a parent’s happiness in that moment? You’ll find tons of opportunities to share yours as well.
